Fender Player II Jazzmaster RW BCG

The guitar is made from quality components, but the QC does not live up to the Fender name.
Things that were wrong with the guitar out of the box:
- fairly sharp fret edges
- few frets not leveled
- action about 25-30% to high from spec
- nut slots not deep enough
- very dry fretboard
- zero shielding in cavities, some back paint that's not conductive

What's good about it:
- When set up properly it's a joy to play, the neck feels great
- Tremolo works good
- Tuners are decent quality
- Pickups are pleasant and dynamic
- Looks cool

What I had to do to the guitar:
- file down the fret ends
- polish the frets
- level 3 high frets
- file down the nut for all 6 strings
- shielded the cavity
- set bridge height and intonation
- oiled the fretboard

Now it plays and feels like a dream.
