I'm falling in love with short scale basses!
First I've got Epiphone EB-0, and it's perfect - as Gibson/Epiphone should be - but very special and individual - as Gibson/Epiphone ever are :)
All in all i'm a P-Bass player, for about 30 years - Gosh, hard to believe. But my back and hips remind me every day about those rock stage years with my heavy 1984 Squier MIJ on. I still love it, but for calm playing in the night kitchen with my headphones on I need something light, tiny and ... still goddamn aggressive - I am a Metal Player still after all 🤘
Then I saw a Video on Thomann's or HB Instagram and - this never happened to me before, and I thought could not - I was video ptoducer for a long time and ... well, produced such staff and have a kind of immunity :))) But here we go, the same single minute I ordered this baby!
And I might admit, that it is not baby at all! The sound surprisingly (even for Harley Benton, and I own some great Basses like PB-50 and JB-40FL) great! Real Precision sound, which cuts right into the center of the diaphragm and growls at the slightest overload. And strings are super - I don't know the brand, but can suppose D'daddario 45-105, of course normal scale, just cutted for size - exactly as it should be when you play roundwound. I throwed away the idea to change them with roundwounds - the sound is very clear and powerfull - almost like on my japanese P-Bass, no matter that I have Seymour Duncan Pickup on it :)
And that look - matt surface that I don't need even to swipe, black metal parts, neck plate and tuning pegs with logos on!
And that retaining part on the head - I had such on my first Bass, Jolana, also short scale, made in Tschechoslowakei, and no Major Brand could do it since than.
Should I mention, that it came full serviced and prepared for playing - first time in my practice I didn't even need to screw the Anchor.
And as it said above - it reacts on every light Overdrive and feels very comfortable in contact with any amp - so that it is enough to play directly through my Vox Modern Bass Amplug (especially on distortion Channel, without any externious pedal atttached, what I normally do with my other Basses) to feel rocking, rolling and grooving with real Professional Bass!
My cheer respects for Harley Benton, you guys made masterpiece! 🤗🔥🤘
