Beautiful sound, but very disappointing reliability
The guitar has a beautiful sound, which I would rate 4.5 out of 5. Unfortunately, my experience with its reliability and overall performance has been very disappointing.
From the first time I tried the guitar, I experienced problems with the connection and the signal cutting out to my amplifier. During my live performances, the guitar suddenly stopped working several times, leaving me unable to perform as planned. I purchased this guitar specifically for live performances, so reliability is extremely important to me.
Unfortunately, I was unable to return it immediately because I was away on a trip and had other commitments. When I eventually had the opportunity to try it properly, I discovered these issues. I have played guitars throughout my life, from inexpensive instruments to more expensive models, and I have never experienced similar problems. I was also surprised that the strings became damaged after only a few playing sessions.
When I contacted Thomann, I was informed that a replacement was not possible because the guitar was outside return the peroid even though it appeared to be faulty from the beginning. I therefore agreed to a warranty repair, hoping the issue would be resolved.
Sadly, after receiving the guitar back, the problems became even worse. The signal cuts out more frequently, and the guitar switches off unexpectedly. I also experienced problems with the indicator light. Despite trying several new cables, the issues remain.
I had very high expectations of Ortega and genuinely hoped this would be an excellent instrument that I could enjoy for years. The sound quality is wonderful, but unfortunately, excellent sound alone is not enough if the guitar cannot be relied upon during a performance.
I appreciate the effort made to repair the instrument, but I am extremely disappointed that the problem remains unresolved.
My rating for sound quality is 4.5/5, but for reliability and overall functionality, it is 1/5. Unfortunately, I can no longer trust this guitar for live performances, which is why my overall experience has been so disappointing.
