It's strange what happens as soon as you pick up the Soma Dvina. From the very first notes, you realise that it's something very stimulating, so stimulating that I spent the whole day playing it! Of the stringed instruments I own and play, I have to say that the Dvina feels different, both because of the narrow neck and the two strings, and because it has no frets, so all the notes are played by sliding your fingers. I really like how it sounds both clean and distorted, achieving ambient sounds in the former case and doom sounds in the latter. I'm sure I'll spend many more wonderful days in the company of this amazing musical instrument.
